Informative speeches share a speaker’s information and knowledge with an audience; these presentations should enhance an audience’s knowledge and understanding, maintain their interest, and be memorable. Speakers should establish a motive for the audience to listen by providing the audience with information that is relevant to them. Keep in mind that an informative speech does not attempt to convince the audience that one thing is better than another, nor does it advocate for action.
