This case study refers to some additional materials. If you'd like to review them, you may do so at this link.
Megan Parnell has decided to go through with her business idea to open her premium movie theatre in Prince George, which she has named Premium Views. She conducted a study of the Prince George area and determined that there is an appetite for a premium movie experience in the area.
In the next steps, Megan has to find a space for lease, then she needs to secure financing for the leasehold improvements and technology. At the same time, Megan is working a part-time job to reduce stress on the nascent company's finances. She intends to quit that job near opening time.
There is still a lot of time between planning, getting architectural drawings for the theatre and kitchen, construction, training of employees, and opening. A lot of variables are hanging in the air. Megan has a rough outline in her mind of what she wants Premium Views to be, but she wants to get more specific. Securing financing is tough and she needs a solid business plan to persuade banks to lend her the money and investors to trust her with their valuable dollars. To do this, Megan needs to be able to articulate her vision for the business. Megan needs to communicate why it will be special, and importantly, how it will be successful.
Megan sits down with her thoughts. She needs to start creating a vision, mission, and goals so she has something substantial to take to the bank and make her dream a reality.
