While diversity can be a source of tension, it is the primary driver of high-level problem-solving if managed as "healthy conflict". In this video we see four conflict styles and their communication implications: Accommodating (indirect and task-oriented), Discussion (direct and task-oriented), Engagement (direct and relationship-oriented), and Dynamic (indirect and relationship-oriented). Take note of the de-escalators used to bridge the gap between the different conflict communication styles. How might you navigate conflicts with group members? What is your conflict style?
