- 8d Explain common organizational patterns for persuasive speeches (CLO 6)
Dr. Sunny is a big fan of Monroe's Motivated Sequence. This is one of the most popular persuasive organization patterns. It includes five steps in this particular order: attention (get your audience's attention), need (explaining why your audience needs your information or defining the problem), satisfaction (provide a solution), visualization (tell your audience how your solution works), and action (urge your audience to act on your solution). As you listen to this talk, consider how many times you have been the receiver of a message that is structured using Monroe's Motivated Sequence.
